Several routes that older guides list here have moved. F55 to Al Maktoum airport now starts at Expo 2020 metro station, and 95A no longer starts at Ibn Battuta. We could not find DPR1 to Dubai Parks and Resorts in RTA’s current data, so check S’hail before planning around it.

The E101 from Ibn Battuta to Abu Dhabi

The E101 is the main reason most people come here. RTA’s route data shows it running from Ibn Battuta to Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station, with stops at Samha and Shahama Village. The first departure in October 2026 was at 4:30 am, and the trip took about 1 hour 45 minutes.

E101 or E100? Both go to Abu Dhabi Central. The E100 starts at Al Ghubaiba in Bur Dubai and takes longer, because it has to cross the city first. If you live anywhere west of Al Barsha, the E101 from Ibn Battuta is the better choice.

Fare. The Abu Dhabi buses have been reported at about AED 25 on a nol card. Check the current fare in S’hail and load your card before you board, because drivers can’t top up.

E102. An Abu Dhabi-run route, E102, links Dubai with Mussafah. Recent sources disagree on whether its Dubai stop is Ibn Battuta or Al Jafiliya, so confirm in S’hail before you rely on it.

OurDubai to Abu Dhabi bus guide compares these routes with Etihad Rail.

The E101 runs along Sheikh Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi with only a few stops.

Route 8: Ibn Battuta to Deira along the coast

Route 8 is one of Dubai’s longest city routes, with 45 stops. From Ibn Battuta it runs past JBR, the Media City tram stop, the Palm monorail station, Madinat Jumeirah, the Burj Al Arab, Umm Suqeim, Jumeirah Centre and Mercato, then crosses to Al Ghubaiba and Gold Souq before ending at Al Baraha in Deira.

RTA’s data showed buses every 30 to 40 minutes and about 90 minutes end to end. It is slow for a full crossing, but very handy for beach stops along Jumeirah, where the metro doesn’t go.

Feeder buses to Discovery Gardens and DIP

F43 runs to Discovery Gardens. Discovery Gardens also has its own metro station on Route 2020, so the bus is mostly useful for the far end of the community.

F46 runs to Dubai Investment Park 2. RTA trimmed some of its stops in January 2026, so check the stop list in S’hail if you used it before.

Feeder buses broadly follow metro hours, and RTA’s network as a whole runs from about 4 am to 1 am, per theRTA timetable. On Sunday, when the metro opens at 8 am, check the first feeder departure before planning an early trip. OurDubai Metro timings hub has the metro hours.

How to get to Ibn Battuta bus station

By metro. Take the Red Line to Ibn Battuta (R39). It is on the Life Pharmacy branch, not the Expo 2020 branch, so check the train’s destination before boarding at National Paints or earlier. OurRed Line stations guide shows the split.

By bus. Route 8 comes all the way from Deira along the coast.

By car. Ibn Battuta Mall has large car parks, but they are run by the mall, not RTA, so its rules apply. The free metro park and ride is at National Paints, one stop away.

Mistakes people make at Ibn Battuta

Taking an Expo 2020 train. Ibn Battuta is only on the Life Pharmacy branch. Trains to Expo 2020 skip it.

Planning around DPR1 or old F55 times. Both have changed. Check S’hail.

Arriving with a low balance. The E101 fare is much higher than a city trip.

Waiting for the last E101 late on a weekend. Evening buses can be busy. Check the final departure before you head out.

Frequently asked questions

Which bus goes from Ibn Battuta to Abu Dhabi?

The E101 runs from Ibn Battuta to Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station, with stops at Samha and Shahama Village. RTA’s data showed a first departure around 4:30 am and a trip of about 1 hour 45 minutes. Fares have been reported at about AED 25 on a nol card.

Is the E101 faster than the E100?

Usually, yes, for people in New Dubai. Both go to Abu Dhabi Central, but the E100 starts at Al Ghubaiba in Bur Dubai and has to cross the city first. If you live in the Marina, JLT, Al Barsha or Discovery Gardens, the E101 from Ibn Battuta saves time.

Which metro station is next to Ibn Battuta?

Ibn Battuta metro station (R39) on the Red Line. It is on the branch to Life Pharmacy, not the main route to Expo 2020. Trains from Centrepoint run directly to both branches, so read the destination on the platform screen before you board.

Is there a bus from Ibn Battuta to Dubai Parks and Resorts?

Route DPR1 used to run from Ibn Battuta to Dubai Parks and Resorts, but we could not find it in RTA’s route data in October 2026. Check the S’hail app for the current way to get there, or take the metro to Expo 2020 and a taxi for the last part.

Does route 8 go to Dubai Marina?

Route 8 serves the Jumeirah Beach Residence stops next to the Marina, plus the Media City tram stop and the Palm monorail station. For the inner Marina, you can switch to the Dubai Tram at JBR or Media City. The route then continues along the Jumeirah coast to Deira.

Making the most of Ibn Battuta bus station

The bus station at Ibn Battuta is the smart choice for Abu Dhabi if you live in New Dubai, thanks to the E101, and route 8 is a cheap way to hop along the Jumeirah coast. Check S’hail for current times, as several older routes here have moved.
