The 13A extension and the 27 reroute came in RTA’s 2026 updates. In July 2026, route 27 moved to Al Mustaqbal Street instead of Al Sukook Street; RTA suggests route 29 from Al Ghubaiba as an alternative for the old stretch.

Most useful routes from Gold Souq

53 to International City. The most frequent route here. RTA’s data showed buses about every 15 minutes and a trip of roughly 1 hour 25 minutes, via Baniyas Square, the Clock Tower, Dubai Festival City, Al Badia and Ras Al Khor. It’s the cheapest way to Dragon Mart.

27 to Dubai Mall. A direct, if slow, bus from old Deira to Downtown. The Green Line plus Red Line is usually faster, but the bus saves changing trains with shopping bags.

C05 to Al Ghubaiba. Links the two creek-side hubs by road via Union, Karama and BurJuman. RTA’s data showed trips every 30 to 50 minutes taking about 45 minutes. The abra is quicker if you only need to cross the creek.

25 to Al Rashidiya. Connects Deira with the Centrepoint end of the Red Line and the Rashidiya bus station feeders to Mirdif and Al Warqa.

X94 to Dubai Investment Park. An express service, popular with workers heading to DIP. RTA rerouted it via Al Yalayis Street in July 2026, so check the stop list in S’hail.

Route 53 runs all the way from the Gold Souk to International City and Dragon Mart.

Gold Souq bus timings

RTA buses run from about 4 am to 1 am across the city, according to the RTA timetable. Routes from Gold Souq mostly start in the early morning and run to around midnight, but each has its own first and last bus.

You’ll see lists online giving one set of times for every Gold Souq route. They don’t match RTA’s schedules, which vary route by route. Check S’hail or the departure screens at the station on the day.

How to get to Gold Souq bus station

By metro. Take the Green Line to Gold Souq (G22). It is a short walk to the bus station. Al Ras (G23) is also close.

From Union. Two stops on the Green Line, Union to Gold Souq. Union Bus Station is where to go for Sharjah, Ajman and Hatta buses.

From Bur Dubai. Take an abra across the creek to Deira Old Souq or Al Sabkha, then walk. Or take C05 from Al Ghubaiba.

From Al Sabkha. It is a few minutes’ walk. The old Al Sabkha bus station lost its main routes in 2025, so Gold Souq is now the main hub in this area.

Gold Souq station and the souks

The station is ideal for a souk visit. The Gold Souk is right beside it, and the Spice Souk and Deira Old Souk are a short walk towards the creek. If you’re shopping, travel light: gold souk purchases and full bags are easier on the metro than on a crowded bus at rush hour.

The area is busy and the streets are narrow. Allow extra time to find your bay, especially on Friday evenings and weekends when the souks are crowded.

Mistakes people make at Gold Souq

Looking for intercity buses here. Gold Souq has none. Some websites list E306 or E700 from Gold Souq; RTA’s data shows E306 from Al Ghubaiba and E700 from Etisalat by e&.

Trusting a single “first and last bus” for every route. Times vary by route.

Missing route changes. 27 and X94 were both rerouted in 2026.

Using the bus to cross the creek. The abra is faster and cheaper for a simple crossing to Bur Dubai.
