The Etihad Rail Dubai station, officially Dubai Al Yalayis Station, sits in Jumeirah Golf Estates next to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. A transfer bridge connects it to Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line. It opens from 05:00 to 23:00 daily, parking costs Dh30, and trains leave for Abu Dhabi and Fujairah.
It opened to passengers on 30 September 2026. Here is how to get there, what you will find inside and what catches people out. Every train in our guide to Etihad Rail from Dubai leaves from this station.
Where is Al Yalayis station?
The station is in Jumeirah Golf Estates in south Dubai, off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311). Gulf News lists the E44 and D57 as the other main approach roads.
Etihad Rail’s Dubai station page gives the address simply as Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai. Search that name in Google Maps rather than a street address.
It is the closest station for these communities, as listed by Gulf News:
- Jumeirah Golf Estates
- Al Furjan
- Dubai Investment Park (DIP)
- The Green Community
- Dubai Production City
- Expo City Dubai
- Dubai South
If you live in Deira, Bur Dubai or Sharjah, this is a long way out. Allow for that before you book an early train.
How do you get to the station by Dubai Metro?
Take the Red Line to Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station. Etihad Rail lists a “transfer bridge to metro” among the station’s amenities, and reporters describe it as an elevated pedestrian walkway between the two stations.
We recommend the Metro for anyone who lives near the Red Line. You skip parking charges and you arrive on foot at the ticket hall. Check first and last Metro times on the RTA Metro page if you are catching the 06:14 train, because the first train of the day leaves early. Keep enough balance on your nol card for the Metro leg. The nol card cannot pay for the train ticket itself, which confuses a lot of first-time riders.
The station is also planned as an interchange with the Dubai Metro Gold Line, which is scheduled for 2032. That will make it easier to reach from other parts of the city, but it is years away.
Can you drive and park at the station?
Yes. Gulf News and Khaleej Times both report that the booking platform lists half-day and full-day parking at Dh30. Reports disagree on the number of spaces, so we have left the figure out.
There is a pick-up and drop-off area, which is the better choice if someone can drive you. Parking is cheap next to a Dh39 ticket, but the car park is new and demand is still unknown, so arrive early on the first few weekends.
Taxis, ride-hailing and buses
You can take a regular taxi or book a ride. Khaleej Times names Uber, Careem and Hala as options, and the station has a taxi and e-hailing area.
For buses, Khaleej Times says RTA route F38 serves the area, with the Jumeirah Golf Estate 1 stop about 1.1 km from the station. That is a real walk in summer heat. We would only rely on it in the cooler months, and we suggest checking the route in the S’hail app before you set out, because this detail has so far come from a single report.
What facilities does the station have?
Etihad Rail’s station page lists these amenities:
- Wi-Fi and a car park
- Ticket vending machines, plus information and support staff
- A waiting area and a separate family waiting area
- A first aid room and a prayer room
- Toilets
- Retail and food outlets
- A pick-up and drop-off area, a bus stop and a taxi/e-hailing area
WHSmith and Starbucks are among the outlets, according to Khaleej Times and The National. Opening hours are 05:00 to 23:00, Monday to Sunday. If you are travelling with small children, the family waiting area is the calmer place to sit before boarding.
Trains from Al Yalayis: where you can go
| Route | Trains per day at launch | Journey time | Comfort fare from |
| Dubai to Abu Dhabi (MBZ City) | 5 | 1h 4m | Dh39 |
| Dubai to Fujairah | 1 (13:57) | 1h 10m | Dh29 |
Times come from the launch timetable and fares from Etihad Rail’s station page. Our Dubai to Abu Dhabi train guide has every departure, and the Dubai to Fujairah guide covers the eastern route.
Which communities gain most from the station?
Short commutes to the station matter more than the rail line itself. Residents of Al Furjan, Jumeirah Golf Estates and DIP can reach it in minutes by car, while people further north face a long Metro ride first.
That difference is already being discussed in the property market. We looked at it in detail in the best areas to buy near the Etihad Rail station, including Al Furjan, Dubai South and DIP. Treat any claim that prices will rise because of the station with care. It depends on supply, and it is too early to measure.
What goes wrong on a first visit
People underestimate the walk. The bridge from the Metro takes several minutes, and ticket sales close shortly before departure.
Some arrive without ID. Etihad Rail says your ID must match the name on the ticket.
Others miss the only Fujairah train. There is one departure a day at launch, at 13:57, and a missed train means a new ticket.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Etihad Rail station in Dubai connected to the Metro?
Yes. A transfer bridge links the rail station with Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line, and Etihad Rail lists it as one of the station’s amenities. You can ride the Metro to Jumeirah Golf Estates and walk across to the ticket hall without going outside onto the road.
How much is parking at Al Yalayis station?
Gulf News and Khaleej Times report Dh30 for both a half day and a full day, based on the Etihad Rail booking platform at launch. Prices may change once the service settles, so confirm the parking rate in the app when you book your train ticket for the day.
What time does Dubai’s Etihad Rail station open?
Etihad Rail’s own station page shows opening hours of 05:00 to 23:00, Monday to Sunday. The first train to Abu Dhabi leaves at 06:14, so the doors open more than an hour before the earliest departure. That gives you time to park, buy a ticket or find the platform.
Can I buy a train ticket at the Dubai station?
Yes. There are ticket vending machines at the station, and they accept contactless cards, digital wallets and cash in AED banknotes. Some fare types are not sold at the machines, though, and sales close shortly before departure, so booking in the app is safer for busy trains.
