How much is the train to Fujairah?
The lowest fares at launch:
- Comfort: from Dh29 one way, shown as “From 29 AED” on Etihad Rail’s Dubai station page.
- Premium: from Dh89 one way, as reported by Khaleej Times and Gulf Today.
Prices move by date. During launch week Khaleej Times found Comfort fares between Dh29 and Dh49 depending on the day, so a Friday trip can cost noticeably more than a Tuesday one. Fares include taxes and fees at checkout.
Can you do a day trip to Fujairah by train?
Not from Dubai, at least not yet. The only departure from Dubai reaches Fujairah at 15:07, and the only train back leaves Fujairah at 11:54 the next day. A same-day return by rail is impossible on the launch timetable.
That makes the train a good choice for a one-night stay or a long weekend on the east coast. For a day trip, drive or take the bus both ways. A hire car also gives you the freedom to stop at Masafi or the Hajar mountain viewpoints on the drive.
The Fujairah to Dubai train works better for residents who need a few hours in Dubai, but only just. It arrives at 13:04 and the return leaves at 13:57, which gives you under an hour. In practice you would stay the night.
Where do the trains leave and arrive?
Dubai: Al Yalayis station in Jumeirah Golf Estates, linked by a bridge to Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line. Parking is reported at Dh30 a day. Our Etihad Rail Dubai station guide covers access and facilities.
Fujairah: Etihad Rail’s Fujairah Station, in the Al Hilal area according to Gulf News. Check how far it is from your hotel, and plan a taxi or a hotel pick-up for the last part of the trip.
Train or bus: which is better for Fujairah?
For an overnight trip, the train. You skip the drive over the mountains, the seats are better, and Dh29 is a low fare for a trip across the country.
For a same-day trip, the E700 bus or a car wins by default. RTA’s E700 bus also runs between Dubai and Fujairah. Check its current fare and departure times in the S’hail app, since we have not been able to confirm them for this guide.
One thing the train cannot fix is the last mile. Fujairah’s beaches and resorts are spread along the coast, and neither the train nor the bus drops you at your hotel door.
