The Etihad Rail Sharjah station is Al Dhaid Station in Muragabat, central Sharjah. It opened on 30 September 2026 with trains to Fujairah in 25 minutes from Dh19 and to Abu Dhabi in 1 hour 24 minutes from Dh59. Parking is free at launch, and three bus routes link it to Sharjah.
Where is Al Dhaid station?
The station is in Muragabat, near Al Dhaid town in Sharjah’s central region, according to Khaleej Times and Gulf News. It also serves nearby communities such as Shawka. Travelling from Dubai instead? See Etihad Rail routes, fares and booking from Dubai.
It is not in Sharjah city, and people often confuse the two.
Sharjah’s Etihad Rail station today is a rural stop that serves farms, villages and the towns around Al Dhaid, not the busy coastal city.
The station for Sharjah city, University City, is scheduled to open on 30 March 2027.

Can you do a day trip from Al Dhaid?
Yes, and this is where the station shines. Take the 09:41 to Fujairah, spend the day on the coast and catch the 17:17 back.
Abu Dhabi works as a day trip too. Leave on the 06:32, arrive at 07:56 and return on the 18:25. Khaleej Times spoke to passengers using this for hospital appointments, and for students without a car it beats a long taxi ride.
Is there a train from Al Dhaid to Dubai?
Not directly, as far as the route list shows. Etihad Rail’s website lists Al Dhaid routes to Fujairah and Abu Dhabi, but not to Dubai. Check the app for a connection before you plan around one.
How to get to the station
By car: there are 26 parking spaces, 19 standard and 7 for electric cars. Parking was listed at Dh0 at launch, according to Khaleej Times.
By bus: three Etihad Rail feeder routes serve the station, ER1 to Al Madam, ER2 to Al Sajaa and ER3 to Al Jubail. Khaleej Times says the bus stop is about 50 metres from the entrance.
By taxi: Sharjah taxis and Uber both serve the station. Gulf News notes that Sharjah taxi meter fares start at Dh3.
With only 26 spaces, we would not rely on finding parking on a holiday morning. Get dropped off if you can, or use one of the ER feeder buses from Al Madam, Al Sajaa or Al Jubail.
What facilities are there?
This Sharjah rail station is smaller than Dubai or Abu Dhabi, and it is built for a quieter flow of passengers. Khaleej Times and Gulf News list:
- a prayer room, waiting area and toilets
- a first aid room
- ticket vending machines and an information desk
- pick-up and drop-off bays and a taxi area
Khaleej Times reports opening hours of 05:00 to 23:00 daily. There are no shops or cafes on the list, so bring water.
