Four Etihad Rail stations are open to passengers: Abu Dhabi (Mohamed Bin Zayed City), Fujairah, Dubai (Al Yalayis in Jumeirah Golf Estates) and Al Dhaid in Sharjah. Abu Dhabi and Fujairah opened on 30 June 2026, Dubai and Al Dhaid on 30 September. Al Dhafra stations follow from 30 December 2026 and Sharjah University City on 30 March 2027.
Below is the full Etihad Rail station list, the routes you can book today, and how to reach each station on the Etihad Rail map. If you are starting in Dubai, our Etihad Rail from Dubai page lists every departure from Al Yalayis.
Which stations are open now?
| Station | Emirate | Location | Opened |
| Abu Dhabi Station | Abu Dhabi | Mohamed Bin Zayed City (ME10) | 30 June 2026 |
| Fujairah Station | Fujairah | Al Hilal area | 30 June 2026 |
| Dubai Station (Al Yalayis) | Dubai | Jumeirah Golf Estates | 30 September 2026 |
| Al Dhaid Station | Sharjah | Muragabat, central Sharjah | 30 September 2026 |
Locations for Abu Dhabi and Dubai come from Etihad Rail’s own station pages. Opening dates are from The National and Emirates 24|7. The Fujairah and Al Dhaid locations come from Gulf News and Khaleej Times.
Be careful with any older Etihad Rail station list you find online. Some already show University City as open, and it is not.
Which routes can you book?
Etihad Rail’s website lists these routes at launch, in both directions:
- Dubai to Abu Dhabi: five trains a day, 1 hour 4 minutes, from Dh39
- Dubai to Fujairah: one train a day, 1 hour 10 minutes, from Dh29
- Abu Dhabi to Fujairah: from Dh55
- Abu Dhabi to Al Dhaid: 1 hour 24 minutes, from Dh59
- Al Dhaid to Fujairah: 25 minutes, from Dh19
Dubai to Al Dhaid does not appear on the route list yet. If you live in Dubai and need central Sharjah, check the app for a connection before assuming there is a direct train.
Fares are launch-week minimums from Etihad Rail’s station pages and Khaleej Times. They change with demand.
How long does it take between stations?
| Between | Journey time | First departure at launch |
| Dubai and Abu Dhabi | 1h 4m | 06:14 from Dubai, 06:43 from Abu Dhabi |
| Dubai and Fujairah | 1h 10m | 13:57 from Dubai, 11:54 from Fujairah |
| Al Dhaid and Fujairah | 25m | 09:41 from Al Dhaid, 06:05 from Fujairah |
| Al Dhaid and Abu Dhabi | 1h 24m | 06:32 from Al Dhaid, 08:15 from Abu Dhabi |
The Dubai times appear in Gulf News, Khaleej Times and Gulf Today, and the first two Abu Dhabi departures also show on Etihad Rail’s own station page. The Al Dhaid times come from Khaleej Times.
The short hop from Al Dhaid to Fujairah is the one that surprises people. At 25 minutes, it is quicker than most drives across Dubai.
How to reach each open station
Dubai Station (Al Yalayis)
A transfer bridge links the station to Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line. Parking is reported at Dh30 for a half day or full day, and there is a taxi and e-hailing area. Our Etihad Rail Dubai station guide covers access in detail.
Abu Dhabi Station (Mohamed Bin Zayed City)
The station is opposite Dalma Mall and next to Mussafah Bus Station, according to The National. It has a car park, a bus stop and a taxi rank, and Etihad Rail runs Dh10 shuttles into the city. See our Abu Dhabi station guide for shuttle times and taxi costs.
Al Dhaid Station (Sharjah)
Feeder buses ER1, ER2 and ER3 connect the station with the Al Madam, Al Sajaa and Al Jubail bus stations. There are 26 parking spaces, including 7 for electric cars, and parking was free at launch. Our Sharjah Al Dhaid station guide lists departures.
Fujairah Station
The Fujairah terminal sits outside the city’s hotel and beach strip. Plan on a taxi or a hotel pick-up for the last leg.
Abu Dhabi city stops are shuttle stops, not stations
Etihad Rail’s website lists ADNEC Centre in Al Rawdah, ADNOC Headquarters on the Corniche and Reem Mall on Al Reem Island next to its rail stations. These are shuttle bus stops, not rail stations. Trains stop only at Mohamed Bin Zayed City.
The shuttle costs Dh10 and must be booked in advance in the app or on the website. The National puts the ride at about 30 minutes to ADNEC, 45 minutes to the Corniche and 55 minutes to Reem Mall. It is an easy mix-up for first-time riders.
Which stations open next?
The Etihad Rail network will grow in two steps over the next six months.
| Station or area | Emirate | Expected opening |
| Al Dhafra region stations | Abu Dhabi | from 30 December 2026 |
| University City | Sharjah | 30 March 2027 |
The dates come from The National and Emirates 24|7, and match what was announced at the Abu Dhabi station launch in June, as reported by Khaleej Times. Time Out Dubai reports that the network should reach 10 stations by the end of March 2027.
Gulf News and Khaleej Times name the western stations on earlier versions of the Etihad Rail map as Al Sila, Al Dhannah, Al Mirfa, Madinat Zayed and Mezairaa, with Al Faya also shown between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Etihad Rail has not said which of these open first, so treat any fixed date for a single western station with caution.
Will Dubai get more rail stations?
Probably, but not soon. Time Out Dubai reports that the Roads and Transport Authority plans four stations on the national line inside Dubai over the next few years, and that a second one may be in Meydan. Neither the location nor a date has been confirmed.
Dubai’s current station is also due to become an interchange with the Metro Gold Line, which is scheduled for 2032.
What every open station has
Etihad Rail’s station pages for Dubai and Abu Dhabi list the same core amenities at both passenger stations:
- Wi-Fi, a car park and a pick-up and drop-off area
- Ticket vending machines and information staff
- A waiting area and a family waiting area
- A prayer room, toilets and a first aid room
- Retail and food outlets
- A bus stop and a taxi or e-hailing area
Both stations open from 05:00 to 23:00, seven days a week. You can check this on Etihad Rail’s Dubai station page and Abu Dhabi station page. Khaleej Times reports the same hours at Al Dhaid, which has a smaller set of facilities.
Before your first visit to any station
The basics are the same everywhere on the Etihad Rail network.
Bring ID that matches the name on your ticket. Etihad Rail says staff may ask for it.
Arrive early. We allow 20 to 30 minutes, more if you are coming by Metro in Dubai or need to park. Ticket machine sales close shortly before departure, and a missed train means a new ticket.
Book connections at the same time as the train. The Abu Dhabi shuttle has to be reserved in advance, and extra luggage must be arranged before you travel.
Do not expect a station in the city centre. Every open station sits on the edge of its city, so the trip to and from the platform is part of the journey. In Dubai that means the Metro or a drive to Jumeirah Golf Estates. In Abu Dhabi it means the shuttle, a bus from Mussafah or a taxi. In Fujairah and Al Dhaid, a taxi is the simplest option for most visitors.
How the stations affect property nearby
Stations change daily life before they change prices. Families in Al Furjan or Dubai South can now reach Abu Dhabi in about an hour without driving, and that is a real selling point.
Whether it lifts prices is another matter. It depends on how much new supply comes to those areas, and the service is too new for the effect to be measured. For the Dubai side, read our guide to buying property near Dubai’s rail station, which compares Al Furjan, Dubai South and DIP.

When will the Sharjah University City station open?

Does Etihad Rail stop at Abu Dhabi airport?
No. Trains stop at Mohamed Bin Zayed City station, which is about 30 minutes from Zayed International Airport by road, according to Khaleej Times. From the station you can take a taxi to the airport. Etihad Rail’s Dh10 shuttles go to ADNEC, the Corniche and Reem Mall, not the airport.
Using the Etihad Rail stations list to plan a trip
Start from the station nearest you, then check which routes it has. With only four stations open, the route list decides more than the map does. For the busiest route, see our Dubai to Abu Dhabi train guide. There is more in our UAE travel section and on the Live In Gulf homepage.
